Update on Executive Director, Bob Emberger:
So many of you have reached out to ask how Bob is doing and to offer your love, support and prayer. Bob, his wife, Marcia and their family, along with myself and the entire Mission family are very grateful and feel VERY loved!
For those who have been out of the loop, Bob had been having troublesome cardiac symptoms over the past several months and was scheduled for a stress test on Thursday, January 31st. Bob failed the stress test and soon learned that he had a severe problem with a congenitally deformed aortic valve that had become symptomatic recently and had degenerated to a critical point rather quickly. Without surgery, Bob would have likely died quite suddenly. But, praise God, Bob had successful open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve on Wednesday, February 6th.
After a couple of days in ICU and then a few more days in a step down cardiac unit, Bob has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home where he will be until sometime this spring (probably until sometime in April).
While recovering, the doctors have instructed Bob not to receive visitors due to the prevalence of the flu and norovirus right now, as any sickness would be quite detrimental at this time. But Bob is in good spirits and is waiting on the Lord during this time of forced rest :).
Cards can be sent to Bob’s home address at:

Or to the Mission, and I will gladly get them to him:

Grateful to God for each of you,
Heather for the entire Mission family
