Sharing God's Love Since 1892

February 2025

Dear Friends,

As we step into the new year, our hearts are full of gratitude for the incredible generosity and kindness you poured out on the Mission family this Christmas. Thanks to you, our residents experienced a holiday season filled with God’s love, warmth, and joy. Your gifts – beautiful presents for our men, toys and gifts for their children and grandchildren, delicious homemade cookies and desserts, special meals, festive decorations, meaningful chapel services – made Christmas truly special. While we missed our usual New Year’s Eve festivities due to a COVID outbreak at the Mission, we will make up for it with an extravagant Super Bowl party! Every act of kindness helped remind our men that they are not forgotten, that they are loved by the Lord, and they have a community cheering them on as they rebuild their lives.

One such man is Ed, who just graduated from our New Life Program and moved into his own apartment! He’s thriving at work at a senior apartment complex, active in his church, and cherishing time with his grandchildren who are excited to visit him in his new place. He left the Mission with a fresh start, a new lease in hand (quite literally in this picture!), a basket of supplies put together by friends of the Mission to help him as he sets up his new place, and a beautiful handmade quilt from another friend – all reminders of the vast and loving community that stands with him. Ed testifies that he is grateful for all God has done in his life. He’s determined to fix his eyes on Jesus and just keep doing the next right thing. Your friendship, gifts, prayers, and support helped make this possible. Thank you!

Please Save the Date! We invite you to join us for our Afternoon of Celebration on Saturday, April 5th at 2 PM at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove. This special event will recognize the achievements of our residents in our Learning Program as we conduct our quarterly awards ceremony that day. Come experience the life of our community as we celebrate together!

Finally, as winter lingers, we are especially grateful for your continued support. Keeping our big, old, and well-loved facilities warm and running smoothly during these cold months is no small feat. Your generosity ensures our residents stay safe and comfortable. Thank you for standing with us in this season and always. May the Lord bless you and your loved ones in the year ahead!

Grace and peace,

Heather L. Rice, D.Min.
